3Tera Attracts Proven Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales
20-Year Industry Veteran Nick Blozan to Drive Strategic Initiatives and Global Market Adoption of Grid and Utility Computing Services
Aliso Viejo, Calif.—March 2, 2007—3Tera, Inc., the leading innovator of grid computing and utility computing services for online applications, today announced the appointment of Nick Blozan to the position of senior vice president, Worldwide Sales. A 20-year industry veteran, Blozan will utilize his deep knowledge of the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) market and on-demand delivery platforms to lead 3Tera's strategic sales and business development initiatives. A proven sales and IT executive with a history of achieving aggressive sales growth, Blozan comes to 3Tera from OpSource(tm) where he served as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing, and played a significant role in establishing the company as the leader in the SaaS delivery market in less than two years. Blozan will now work closely with 3Tera's management team, and the company's partners, to drive adoption of 3Tera's new grid and utility services by SaaS companies, enterprises and hosting providers worldwide.
"Software-as-a-Service companies are moving away from costly and restrictive managed hosting, and are looking to leverage completely virtualized data centers to efficiently and cost-effectively deploy, manage and scale Web applications according to demand," said Vlad Miloushev, president & CEO, 3Tera, Inc. "Nick shares our vision for SaaS, and his extensive experience in sales, strategic alliances and business development will be a strong addition to 3Tera's executive team."
"I've worked closely with Nick as the chairman of the SIIA SaaS Executive Council," said David Thomas, executive director, Software Division, Software & Information Industry Association. "The SIIA is very active in educating the industry about Software-as-a-Service and how it is affecting the traditional software business model. As the chair, Nick was very efficient in driving that effort for the benefit of the entire industry, and continues to play a key role in defining SIIA's overall SaaS strategy. I'm confident his leadership will also be a strategic asset to 3Tera."
"I am excited to be joining 3Tera at this time because the world is moving away from the traditional software model to a services-centric model," said Nick Blozan, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales, 3Tera, Inc. "3Tera's AppLogic platform provides SaaS, Web 2.0 and even enterprise companies the ability to rapidly deploy, scale and manage Web applications without having to own or operate hardware infrastructure, and to pay only for the resources they actually use."
